Terms of Service
Acceptance
By downloading or using Atlas: Idle Wildlife Journal (the “Game”), provided by Yoqze (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
The Game
Atlas is a single-player idle game in which you document wildlife in an illustrated field journal. It can be played offline and backs your progress up to our server when it is online. We provide the Game “as is” and “as available” and may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Game, or the minimum age required by the laws of your country if that is higher.
Your account and recovery code
The Game automatically creates an anonymous account, identified by a random recovery code, and backs your progress up to it. You are responsible for keeping that code safe: anyone who has it can access your cloud save, and a lost code cannot be recovered. You can delete your account and cloud save at any time in Profile → Settings → “Delete cloud save”.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Game for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to our servers or other players’ saves;
- reverse-engineer, tamper with or exploit the Game, except as permitted by law.
Advertising
The Game may show optional rewarded ads provided by Google AdMob. Watching ads is always your choice. Ad content is also subject to Google’s terms and policies.
In-game items
Research Points and other in-game items have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money and are not transferable. They exist only within the Game and may be adjusted or lost — for example, if you delete your data or we change the game balance.
Content and intellectual property
The Game — including its code, artwork, text and design — is owned by Yoqze and protected by law. The wildlife facts shown in the Game come from open, freely licensed sources (Wikidata, dedicated to the public domain under CC0, and GBIF) and are credited in the app. They are provided for general interest and education; we do not guarantee their accuracy or completeness. Some sounds and music are by other creators, used under their free licences and credited in the app.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Game is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that cloud backups will always be available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the Game. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the Game after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.

Privacy Policy
The short version
- You never sign in. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or a password.
- The game creates an anonymous account by itself and automatically backs your journal up to our server, so you can restore it on another device with your recovery code.
- Our server keeps technical logs, including IP addresses, for up to 30 days.
- Ads are optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob. In the EU and the UK, Google’s consent form asks you before any ad is requested.
- To fix crashes, the Game sends crash reports; and, only with your consent where the law asks for it, anonymous usage statistics. Both through Google Firebase, without the advertising ID.
- We do not sell your data.
Who we are
Atlas: Idle Wildlife Journal (“Atlas”, “the Game”) is made by Yoqze (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@yoqze.com.
Automatic cloud backup
The first time the Game connects to the internet, our server creates an anonymous account for your device, identified by a random ID. That ID is your recovery code, shown in Profile → Settings → Cloud save.
From then on, the Game backs your journal up automatically whenever it can reach our server. The backup is part of how the Game works and is not optional. While your device is offline nothing is uploaded; the backup resumes when it connects again.
What is stored: your in-game progress — the explorer name you typed, the species you have documented, your photo album, Research Points, tools and achievements — as a single save, together with the time it was last updated.
The recovery code is the only key to that save: anyone who has it can restore your journal, so treat it like a password. We hold nothing that links the code to you, so a lost code cannot be recovered.
Why: to keep your progress safe and let you restore it on another device. The legal basis is the performance of our agreement with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Server logs
When the Game talks to our server (api.atlasidle.sarahfalcon.dev), the server records technical logs: your IP address, the time, the request made and its result. We use them to keep the service secure, prevent abuse (for example, limiting how many requests one address can make) and fix errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted after 30 days.
How long we keep data
- Cloud save: until you delete it from Settings, or automatically after 24 months in which the Game has not contacted our server.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Usage statistics: 2 months.
Crash reports and usage statistics (Google Firebase)
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). When the Game crashes or hits an error, it sends a report: what went wrong, the device model, the operating system and app versions, and a random installation ID. We use them only to fix bugs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a game that works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics). To learn which parts of the Game are used and where players get stuck, it records the screens you open and game events (for example, setting out on an expedition or developing a photo), with a random app ID, the device model, the operating system, the language and the approximate country or region Google derives from your IP address. It never uses the advertising ID, never includes your explorer name and is not used for advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, usage statistics run only if you agree in the consent form (to storing information on your device and to measuring how content is used). You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); elsewhere, our legitimate interest in improving the Game.
Google processes this data on our behalf. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Rewarded ads (Google AdMob)
The Game offers optional rewarded ads — for example, to speed up an expedition or play an extra round of the meadow minigame. You never have to watch one.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks for your choice before any ad is requested. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
When an ad is requested, Google AdMob collects data such as device identifiers (including the advertising ID), your IP address, diagnostics and ad-interaction data, as described in Google’s policies. The app only requests non-personalized ads, so they are not based on your interests or activity in other apps. Google processes this data under its own policies; we do not receive or store it.
How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Data stored only on your device
- Your full game save, stored locally.
- Notifications (for example, when an expedition returns) are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push server and do not collect a push token.
What we do NOT collect
- No sign-in, email address or password.
- No real name (the explorer name is your choice and can be anything).
- No precise location: only the approximate country or region Google derives from your IP address, as described above.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- No tracking for advertising: the usage statistics never use the advertising ID.
Who handles data for us
Our server runs on a virtual private server rented from our hosting provider (OVHcloud), which stores the data on our behalf. Ads, crash reports and usage statistics are handled by Google (AdMob and Firebase), as described above. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
Age
Atlas is intended for players aged 16 and over and is not directed to children. If you are under 16, please do not use the Game. If you believe a child under 16 has used it, contact us at contact@yoqze.com with the recovery code and we will delete the cloud save.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your cloud save: in Profile → Settings, tap “Delete cloud save”. This permanently removes your account and its backup from our server. Your progress on the device stays, and the Game starts a new backup under a new recovery code — to leave nothing on our server, delete the cloud save and then uninstall the Game. See Delete your data.
- Change your ad choice: Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. Write to contact@yoqze.com. Because saves are anonymous, we can only act on a save whose recovery code you give us.
- You can also complain to a data protection authority — in Spain, the AEPD (aepd.es) — or to the one where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date and, where appropriate, a notice in the Game or its store listing.
